Summary:The Associate Chef works as an extension of the Lead/Senior
Research Chef as a shared service to support and collaborate with
internal applications teams focusing on bench top product
development to support internal and external customer ideation and
menu development for trade shows and other tasks delegated by the
Lead/Senior Research Chef. The Associate Chef is responsible for
managing the Culinary Kitchen including organization, stock/grocery
shopping, and cleanliness to ensure a constant
show ready
standard. The Associate Chef is responsible for (M.O.E.) mobile
food truck operations, maintenance and local driving/event set up.
Additionally, he/she will be asked to execute regularly scheduled
on-site food preparation, sampling and/or product testing for
customers and employees at the Bunge St. Louis offices.Core
Functions:
Support Lead/Senior Research Chef in the execution of menu
preparations for Trade shows, product development, customer
visits/presentations (internal & external), and standardization of
recipes for scalable production;
Clean, maintain, stock and ensure BCSC Culinary Kitchen, Bake Lab
and M.O.E. food truck are presentable, and operational at all
times;
Supports the creation of on-trend menu items for requested Bunge
events and perform product tests, samplings and more;
Gain a comprehensive knowledge of Bunge Oils, Protein and Milling
product offerings and their functionality for promotion and
demonstration at industry events;
Stay up to date on culinary trends, processes;
Assist in menu creation and execution as necessary;
Other duties assigned by Lead/Senior Research Chef and department
leaders;Skills/Experience Requirements:
Culinary Arts Associate Degree or equivalent diploma.
Exposure in the restaurant/hospitality industry as a cook with a
Back Of House focus;
Ability to obtain Research Chef Certification within 5 years;
High volume cooking/catering a plus;
Must have mastered basic culinary/cooking skills and detailed,
functioning knowledge of food and food preparation;
Food safety knowledge required; Food safety certification required
(must obtain if not currently certified);
Knowledge of various work stations and able to train others in
those stations;
Good communication and team-oriented skills required;
Troubleshooting skills;
Organizational skills;
Must be able to lift over 50 lbs regularly;
Must be willing to work irregular hours (nights, early mornings,
