Job Description Job Description Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Loan Servicing Operations Location: St. Louis, MO (Onsite – Federal Facility) Position Type: Full-Time Background Investigation Required Position Overview Nationwide IT Services (NIS) is seeking a senior-level Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Loan Servicing Operations for a potential opportunity to lead onsite operations in support of the USDA Rural Development Servicing Office . This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for overseeing large-scale mortgage servicing operations within a regulated Federal environment. The SME will serve as the primary operational authority and trusted liaison to Federal leadership, ensuring performance excellence, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency across all servicing functions. Key Responsibilities Provide operational leadership for a 60 person loan servicing team Serve as the primary interface with Federal leadership and stakeholders Oversee high-volume mortgage servicing operations, including: Bankruptcy processing Financial transactions Loss claims Mail operations Imaging support Monitor production metrics, service levels, and quality standards Lead issue escalation, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans Ensure compliance with loan servicing regulations and internal controls Oversee staffing, onboarding, workforce planning, and performance management Prepare and present monthly operational and performance reports Required Qualifications Minimum 10 years of management experience in loan servicing operations Proven experience supervising large operational teams Strong understanding of end-to-end mortgage servicing workflows Experience in bankruptcy processing, loss claims, or compliance-driven environments Demonstrated leadership in regulated or audit-focused settings Excellent written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting Federal or Government loan programs Experience with LoanServ or comparable mortgage servicing platforms Audit, compliance, or internal controls experience Security Requirements U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Ability to successfully pass a background investigation (MBI/NACIC) Key Traits for Success We are seeking professionals who demonstrate: Strong attention to detail A clean background and high ethical standards Comfort working in structured, compliance-driven environments Ability to manage repetitive, regulation-heavy processes with precision Why Join Nationwide IT Services?
