  • Paid holidays (8); paid vacation and personal daysThe Safety and Compliance Manager is responsible for managing the field safety efforts of the company to reduce accidents, injuries, and unsafe situations.Responsibilities:
    • Develop and execute plans to promote a safer workplace
    • Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of safety
    • Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to best practices
    • Conduct training and presentations for safety matters and accident prevention
    • Monitor compliance to policies and regulations by auditing service centers
    • Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions
    • Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and determine appropriate preventive measures
    • Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
    • Report on safety awareness, issues and statistics
    • Analyze safety data and identify methods or procedures to reduce risk
    • Responsible for staffing, training, developing and managing the Field Safety Specialists
    • Mentor company leaders on safety processes and advise on best practices
    • Work with other departments to promote safer and more efficient processes
    • Work to integrate and train new safety technology or procedures
    • Maintain high level of confidentiality and professionalism
    • Complete other Safety related tasks as directedQualifications:
      • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of related work experience
      • 5 years experience in environmental health and safety or relate field, and/or experience in the LTL industry
      • 4 years experience in management/leadership
      • Experience and understanding of accepted loss prevention and safety practices
      • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and typing skills
      • Great communication skills written and verbal
      • Professional certifications (i.e.: CDS, CSS, or other recognized certifications) preferred
