Overview
Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital proudly serves the health care
needs of families in St. Charles, Lincoln and Warren counties. The
102-bed community hospital provides comprehensive inpatient and
outpatient services including the Siteman Cancer Center at
Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital, the Breast Health and Women s
Center, the Cardiology Center, the Neurosurgery Center and the
Outpatient Surgery and Endoscopy Center.
Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital is an Accredited Chest Pain
Center and carries a Level II stroke certification. Additionally,
the hospital s medical office building houses offices for
specialists in primary care, cardiology, obstetrics, dermatology,
surgery and pulmonology. Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital also
offers outpatient services including physical therapy, a sleep lab,
and cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation.

Role Purpose
Supports the operational functions of the department as related to:
reporting, payroll, service recovery, staff communication, staff
data collection and reporting, staff competencies and regulatory
readiness compliance. Works collaboratively with other members of
the leadership team to lead staff in clinical and service
excellence.

Responsibilities
* May participate in the development of departmental staffing,
revenue and/or expense budgets and having direct responsibility for
adhering to those goals. This includes responding to changes in the
business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget
goals.
* Prepare, analyze and develop action plan(s). Seek to identify
trends in patient outcomes related to audits, reporting, &
compliance. Ensure proper documentation, communication, followup
accordingly.
* Perform service recovery related to physician and bed management
issues; support investigation and resolution of operational issues
as required.
* Ensure staff meet regulatory, unit and BJC competency
requirements; determine corrective plan of action if competencies
are not met; follow up to ensure compliance. Ensure year round
readiness through audits; determine individual or unit corrective
plan if audit discloses readiness issues; follow up to ensure
compliance with corrective plan. Own environmental plan.
* Review staff hours worked vs scheduled hours and determine
appropriate disposition if variation exists. Perform and approval
daily payroll updated. Reconcile time cards, bonus tracking and
coding approval. Prepare, coordinate and execute all staff
communications; prepare huddle agendas and lead meeting. Determine
staffing needs; make nursing assignments as well as assign
overtime. Recommend effective annual increases. Interview staff for
open positions; evaluate and conduct performance reviews as
assigned; draft and issue corrective actions/coaching; follow up
regarding any disciplinary action to determine compliance.
* Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires,
trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts
professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and
actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of
the department as established by department leadership.

* Nursing Diploma/Associate's - Nursing
* 2-5 years of experience
* RN License
