Additional Information About the RoleBarnes-Jewish St. Peters is looking for an experienced -Respiratory Therapist, either CRT or RRT, to join our close knit team. We offer competitive pay as well as a sign on bonus up to $10,000. The hours for this role are 9:00AM to 9:30PM, rotating weekends and holidays. - OverviewBarnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital proudly serves the health care needs of families in St. Charles, Lincoln and Warren counties. The 102-bed community hospital provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services including the Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital, the Breast Health and Women's Center, the Cardiology Center, the Neurosurgery Center and the Outpatient Surgery and Endoscopy Center.Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital is an Accredited Chest Pain Center and carries a Level II stroke certification. Additionally, the hospital's medical office building houses offices for specialists in primary care, cardiology, obstetrics, dermatology, surgery and pulmonology. Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital also offers outpatient services including physical therapy, a sleep lab, and cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation.Role PurposeProvides direct patient care activities related to respiratory care including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation within the guidelines of the hospital and department. - Can apply clinical respiratory expertise and scientific knowledge including best practices and shares with others as part of the patient care team. - Ensures care provided is safe, effective, developmentally and age appropriate while complying with all quality and regulatory requirements as well as quality improvement initiatives.Responsibilities

• Performs various diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures according to established standards, procedures, guidelines and policies.
• Applies respiratory knowledge and clinical expertise, including the ability to assess, analyze and troubleshoot as needed.
• Effectively communicates by participating in the exchange of information including documentation, handoff and works collaboratively with the healthcare team.
• Provides education and training about respiratory therapy treatments and procedures to others including patients, families, students, new employees and members of the healthcare team utilizing diversity and learning styles.
• Holds self-accountable and seeks out opportunities for continuous learning and feedback and is able to perform multiple related duties, prioritizing and applying effective time management.
• Performs Other Responsibilities as AssignedMinimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic Cardiovascular Life Support
  • CRT
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner Preferred QualificationsPreferred Requirements
