Additional Information About the Role

We are looking for an experienced RRT or CRT to join our team at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters. This position is Weekend Option, on night shift. Qualified candidates are eligible for a Sign-On-Bonus up to $10,000.
Overview

Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital proudly serves the health care needs of families in St. Charles, Lincoln and Warren counties. The 102-bed community hospital provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services including the Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital, the Breast Health and Women's Center, the Cardiology Center, the Neurosurgery Center and the Outpatient Surgery and Endoscopy Center. Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital is an Accredited Chest Pain Center and carries a Level II stroke certification. Additionally, the hospital's medical office building houses offices for specialists in primary care, cardiology, obstetrics, dermatology, surgery and pulmonology. Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital also offers outpatient services including physical therapy, a sleep lab, and cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation. Role PurposeProvides direct patient care activities related to respiratory care including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation within the guidelines of the hospital and department. Can apply clinical respiratory expertise and scientific knowledge including best practices and shares with others as part of the patient care team. Ensures care provided is safe, effective, developmentally and age appropriate while complying with all quality and regulatory requirements as well as quality improvement initiatives.Responsibilities

  • Performs various diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures according to established standards, procedures, guidelines and policies.
  • Applies respiratory knowledge and clinical expertise, including the ability to assess, analyze and troubleshoot as needed.
  • Effectively communicates by participating in the exchange of information including documentation, handoff and works collaboratively with the healthcare team.
  • Provides education and training about respiratory therapy treatments and procedures to others including patients, families, students, new employees and members of the healthcare team utilizing diversity and learning styles.
  • Holds self-accountable and seeks out opportunities for continuous learning and feedback and is able to perform multiple related duties, prioritizing and applying effective time management.
  • Performs Other Responsibilities as AssignedMinimum Requirements
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Basic Cardiovascular Life Support
    • CRT
    • Respiratory Care Practitioner
