Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years CVU
experience License: Current and up-to-date nursing license
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Must be ACLS certified.
Experience with hemodynamics. Ability to titrate cardiac and
vasoactive drips. Preference for those with cardiac assistive
machine experience. Experience with EPIC charting system is
preferred. Description: This position is for a nurse specialized in
CVICU. The role requires experience with cardio-thoracic surgery
patients and post cardiac surgery care. Candidates must have
experience managing open heart patients and TAVR patients. The
nurse will care for patients post-cath lab and post-cardiac
surgeries. The nurse must be trained in post-operative care. The
patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:1 for ICU shifts and 2:1 for telemetry
shifts. The nurse will float within cardiac units as needed.
Weekend shifts are required, totaling 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week
period. The facility has a structured daily census of 3 and
consists of 6 ICU beds. Interdisciplinary support is available
within the unit. Candidates must have skills in arterial line
management, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and ventilator
management. The nurse should also be skilled in the management of
intra-aortic balloon pumps and pulmonary artery lines. This
position may involve the management of various cardiac drips and
