Registered Nurse (RN) | Medical-Surgical Location: Springfield, IL Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,962 per week Shift Information: Nights - 4 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/2/2026 About the Position Job Title: Orthopedic Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Must have an active state license to apply Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred Must-Have: - Telemetry experience preferred - Required IV therapy/Phlebotomy skills/experience: PICC Line Management, Starting IVs Description: The Orthopedic Registered Nurse will accept Medical Surgical RNs with good orthopedic experience. This position requires working every third weekend. The clinician will float to other medical-surgical departments as needed. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience. First-time travelers are accepted. IV therapy skills including starting IVs and managing PICC lines are required. Cerner experience is preferred. Previous travel experience is preferred. Telemetry experience is a plus. The unit specializes in orthopedic elective surgeries such as total joint replacements, trauma patients needing orthopedic interventions, and infections requiring long-term IV antibiotics. Special procedures performed in the unit include traction, bedside debridement, and complex dressing changes. Knowledge of support equipment such as slings, walkers, IV pumps, tube feeding pumps, and vital sign monitors is beneficial. Candidates must be adaptable and able to meet the facility's needs. This role requires a high level of professionalism and attendance throughout the contract duration. Candidates should be prepared to secure housing and meet compliance requirements promptly.
