working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Saint
Louis, Missouri, 63136! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession:
Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours
per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in critical care nursing
with experience in vents, titration of pressors, and insulin drips.
License: Valid nursing license required. Certifications: ACLS,
BCLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: - Experience with titration of
vasopressors, sedation medications, insulin drips, trach vents,
arterial lines, external pacemakers, and chest tubes. - Must have
been at the bedside within the last 6 months. Description: This is
a step down unit position for night shifts. The patient-to-nurse
ratio is 1:4. Nurses are required to work 2 shifts every other
weekend. For night shifts, it can be either Friday/Saturday or
Saturday/Sunday, depending on the existing rotation. The candidates
must have experience with vents, titration of pressors, and insulin
drips. First-timers are accepted. Clinical skills required include
procedural sedation administration and monitoring, interpretation
of arterial blood gases, telemetry, managing cardiac arrhythmias,
and care of ventilated patients. Nurses will float to lower acuity
floors as needed. The unit provides care primarily to adults with
various acute medical conditions, essentially step-down from ICU.
The unit typically has 1-2 respiratory therapists assigned each
shift, but nurses must know how to troubleshoot ventilator alarms.
The position requires candidates who have proficient experience in
the specific medical procedures and equipment outlined in the job
description. All travelers must comply with safety measures related
to fit testing. Candidates must also be comfortable floating within
