PROGRAM SPECIALIST I ELECTION JUDGE TRAINER - ELECTION AUTHORITYPURPOSE:To recruit, train, and assign Republican and Democratic election judges and drop station judges for each election. This position acts under the supervision of the Assistant Director - Elections.JOB DESCRIPTION: Recruits, hires, and trains polling place judges and drop station judges Finds, organizes, and staffs public events to recruit judges throughout the County - Events may be indoor or outdoor and held outside of normal working hours. Prepares documents and correspondence confirming status or other notices to judges Assigns polling place judges as appropriate and keeps accurate records and files on electronic poll judge management software Establishes training schedule and trains polling place judges - Maintains all materials regarding training (manuals, handouts, PowerPoint presentations etc.) Notifies election judges of special instructions relating to their assignment Notifies judges and voters of polling place location Works extended hours on election day and night Maintains knowledge of federal and state regulations relating to elections Proofs ballots Coordinates with polling locations about times of elections, contact person for each location and building access, availability of tables, chairs, and other amenities - Sends annual polling place contract to polling locations for signature and confirmation Assists the public on a daily basis Accuracy is paramount, along with the ability to handle high levels of stress and high-priority deadlines. Performs data entry, prepares documents and correspondence, files documents, and answers phones. Maintains working documents in folders on the O drive in a current status for accessibility by co-workers and assists co-workers when needed Assists with Election Day and Night Activities, Absentee Voting, and Special Projects
