Hours are 6am-6pm on the same rotating 2 week schedule as our MFG
Techs. (Week 1 M,T,F,S / Week 2 Su, W, Th). Position Description:
Title: Packaging Operator 3 Hours are 6am-6pm on the same rotating
2 week schedule as our MFG Techs. (Week 1 M,T,F,S / Week 2 Su, W,
Th). Run lines/ automation - will be operating machines vs. hand
filling Forklift experience GMP experience (preferred) clean
shaved. Key Accountabilities: Supports operational functions,
provides technical guidance, assists with the implementation of
improvements, and works on departmental projects in order to ensure
department and corporate objectives are satisfied. Candidates
Profile Education: HS Diploma or equivalent Desirable: High school
course work in chemistry or 6 months chemistry related work
experience Work Experience 2-4 years packaging experience preferred
but not required. Job specific Competencies & Skills Knowledge and
Skills: Ability to operate powered industrial equipment and perform
hand weighing operations. Also able to setup and run drum massager,
delumper, filling machine, capper, automated labeler, and other
ergonomic equipment. Knowledge of product flow throughout the
packaging process. Ability to effectively communicate in a
professional manner with all levels of staff both orally and
written. Ability to work in a group setting. Ability to demonstrate
attention to detail. Ability to work quickly and adjust to changing
priorities in a fast-pace environment. Demonstrated problem-solving
and team building skills with the ability to work with a diverse
group of people. Essential Job Functions: Provides training and
operational support to the department Maintains high-quality work
environment by sharing knowledge and experiences so team members
are motivated to perform at their highest level Keeps supervisor
informed of potential and/or existing concerns Leads by example in
performing core packaging job elements by meeting or exceeding
performance expectations, following health and safety guidelines,
job accuracy, and following company and regulatory requirements.
Participates in and supports the development and implementation of
process improvement projects and leads test cycles to challenge
current practices, improve system efficiency, enhance customer
service, and maintain compliance Troubleshoot problems within the
department Demonstrates working knowledge of department operating
systems. Maintains orders, work areas and stock locations in a
safe, clean, and organized manner. Reports unsafe or potentially
unsafe hazards to any member of management Miscellaneous duties and
tasks as assigned Exemplary attendance and adherence to schedule
Environmental Conditions: General Office Environment: Noise level
in office environment is generally quiet. Packaging Environment:
Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. Is regularly
required to wear appropriate protective gear, (hard hats,
glasses/goggles, chemical resistant suits, gloves, safety shoes,
respirator) and other personal protection equipment PPE to protect
themselves from toxic or corrosive chemicals in the forms of
liquids, solids, vapors or airborne particles. The work area may
occasionally be wet, humid, abnormally hot or cold. Physical
Requirements: If performing office duties: Employee is required to
sit, stand, hear, and use hands to operate all office equipment.
Employee must view computer monitors for long periods of time.
Vision requirements are close vision and the ability to adjust
focus. Employee occasionally will be required to lift, generally no
more than 55 pounds. If performing warehouse/distribution duties:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly
required to sit, stand, walk, reach above the shoulder, stoop,
kneel, twist, or crouch for long periods of time. The employee must
be able to talk, hear, taste and smell. The employee must regularly
lift 55 pounds and/or move 300 pounds without additional employee
assistance. Employee may be required to move more than 300 pounds
with assistance. Specific vision requirements of this job include
close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision,
depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Regularly uses
manufacturing equipment, powered industrial equipment, phones,
computers, computer monitors and all office/laboratory
equipment.
