Our St. Peters, MO facility of Ingersoll Rand/Gardner Denver Nash LLC has an exciting opportunity for an Aftermarket Support Engineer.

The Aftermarket Support Engineer will provide engineering service in support of the distribution center and the aftermarket service centers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Process Development and Improvement: Develops and implements process improvements to reduce costs, enhance product marketability and reliability, improve competitiveness, improve quality and/or safety of specific operations. May prepare and submit capital justifications necessary to support the changes necessitated within the forecasted budget. Coordinates the implementation of all new product and model changes through cooperation with other departments. Identifies production concerns and takes steps to correct problems.

  • Documentation: Initiates and maintains documentation, prepares reports, blueprints, etc. supporting process, executes engineering change requests and manufacturing improvements. Develops budget requests regarding any plan changes. Coordinates and maintains all Engineering documents and design change information at the facility

  • Quality: Develops and maintains all departmental procedures supporting and maintaining ISO certification.

  • Quotation: Provides technical assistance in Interpreting order requirements so that appropriate modifications and deliverables are included in proposals. Reviews customer purchase order amendments and/or additions and discusses with appropriate department.

  • Material Management: Works with Supply Chain Management to revise assembly and parts lists drawings to correspond to changes made to detail drawings and bills of materials. Responsible for setting up material masters in SAP for new part numbers required.

  • Planning: Works in conjunction with the Engineering Department to assemble a full range of layout assembly and detail drawings. Prepares and forwards preliminary bills of material as well as revised submittals to the customer for approval. Monitors the progress of project equipment through design and build process and resolves any issues impacting progress.

  • Production: May oversee production processes, suggesting changes in working methods or sequences in order to improve efficiencies of project timelines. This position will be responsible for oversight of the Liquid Ring Performance test stand.

  • Technical Support: Develops knowledge to support the Aftermarket team on all Products sold or serviced by distribution and service centers This would include but not be limited to Liquid Ring Pumps and Compressors, Centrifugal Blowers, Garo, Dry-Pro and new technologies as they come on board.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned or directed.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

5 or more years experience in a manufacturing and industrial environment, preferably one handling rotating equipment . Project management experience preferred; ability to read and understand technical specifications, drawings and P&IDs, ability to interface with all levels of engineering, procurement, sales, shipping, production, etc. and develop excellent working relationships with customers. Excellent communication skills necessary. Experience in manufacturing environment required preferably with experience in precision machining of ferrous and non-ferrous castings, shaft-type components, familiarity with standard precision measuring techniques, plant layout and assembly methods, line balancing and time studies. EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering required. Registered Professional Engineer, Certified Manufacturing Engineer preferred. Proficiency in various computer software necessary i.e. Microsoft Office.
