Click on the link below to review our benefits2025 Immunotek BenefitsPay range(s): - $23.00-$30.00 depending on licensure.Required Shift Availability:Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties for Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) and Paramedics (PMD)Greet and register new plasma donors into the donor management computer systemConduct screening procedures to include taking blood pressure, pulse, temperature, weight, and arm checksPerform finger sticks to test donors for hematocrit testing and total protein testing utilizing screening equipment. Monitor the electronic donor questionnaire systemDetermine donor eligibility by performing donor eligibility assessments, to include; medical history interview, physical examination, educating donor on donor testing, HIV/AIDS virus, donation risks, informed consent, confidential self-exclusion, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE) testing as necessaryProvide counseling to Donors regarding unacceptable test resultsInitiate and assist in donor investigations regarding Post Donation InformationEvaluate and attend to donor adverse events during the donation processFollow all standard operating procedures for all medical emergencies, to include communication with the Center Medical Director and donor transport to emergency medical care facilities. Communicate and seek direction from Center Medical Director and Center Management as necessaryLearn and maintain thorough familiarity and compliance with all state and federal regulations, Standard Operating Procedure Manual, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), and internal Company ProceduresThorough knowledge of applicable Company and departmental policies and procedures as well as the willingness to learn and follow any policy or procedure that may be introduced in the futureMaintain an open line of communication with ManagementEnsure and maintain the confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center informationMaintain a positive and professional demeanor during all interactions with donors, fellow employees, and vendorsAbility to accept performance feedback in a professional mannerRegular attendance and arriving on time to all scheduled shifts and mandatory meetingsOther duties as assignedQualifications for EMTs and PMDsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum one (1) year work experience preferredActively licensed or certified in the state where performing duties: State Licensed EMT I, Basic, Advanced, Paramedic. ***National Licenses not accepted***Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification requiredRequirements for EMTs an PMDsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skillsAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusionsDemonstrate discretion when dealing with confidential informationAbility to work on multiple projects concurrentlyAbility to work independently and manage deadlines efficientlyExcellent verbal and written communication skillsPhysical Requirements for EMTs and PMDsUse hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hearFrequent leaning, bending, stooping, crouching, and reaching above the shoulders and below the kneeAbility to sit for extended periods for up to four (4) hours at a timeAbility to lift, tug, and pull up to fifty (50) poundsWork EnvironmentTypical work environment with moderate noise levelMay be exposed to freezing temperatures for short periods of timeOccupational exposure to bloodborne pathogensDisclaimerThis job description is construed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed.
