Job Description Job Description Quality Inspector St. Louis, MO On-site Hourly Description Kemco Aerospace is seeking an ambitious Quality Inspector to assist our Quality Department for our St. Louis, MO site, as detailed below. Kemco Aerospace is a manufacturer of complex assemblies and precision components for use in a wide range of aerospace and defense applications. Our company works closely with large aircraft and weapon systems OEMs, such as Boeing Defense, Bell, RTX/Collins Aerospace, Northrop Grumman and several others. Crestview Aerospace provides key assemblies for many in-service platforms (H-47, V-22, F-35, F-15, F-16, F-18, KC-135, E-2, and weapon systems such as Harpoon and SLAM-ER. Kemco Aerospace/Crestview Aerospace is comprised of two (2) manufacturing sites, with operations in St. Louis, Missouri and Crestview, FL, and employs approximately 350 professionals. Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Quality Inspector to support the inspection of precision-machined parts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role focuses heavily on hands-on inspection and measurement, ensuring products meet engineering specifications and quality standards. The ideal candidate is reliable, efficient, and comfortable working independently while maintaining a strong commitment to accuracy and quality. Key Responsibilities Perform first-article, in-process, roaming, and final inspections on precision-machined parts Use a wide range of inspection and measurement tools daily; inspection activities comprise 90% or more of the role Read and interpret engineering prints, drawings, and specifications to verify product requirements Conduct detailed visual and dimensional inspections to identify defects or non-conformances Accurately document inspection results and complete required quality records and forms Communicate inspection findings to the quality, production, and engineering teams as needed Support additional quality department tasks and initiatives as assigned Required Skills & Abilities Strong ability to read and interpret engineering prints and technical documentation Proficiency with measurement and inspection tools, including micrometers, calipers, comparators, thread plugs, and plug gauges Exceptional attention to detail in both measurement and documentation Excellent visual acuity and ability to identify defects Ability to maintain focus and accuracy in a fast-paced, distraction-prone environment Efficiency-driven mindset with strong time-management skills Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision Ability to read, understand, and follow SOPs, specifications, and inspection forms Quick learner with a high level of trainability Strong, reliable attendance Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification preferred Experience in a machining environment (quality or production) preferred Familiarity with quality inspection processes and techniques Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Outlook, preferred This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by this employee.
